I painted this as a preparation for my next continuers' course, where we'll be dealing with reflections in water. Tove accompanied me to Kullen, one of my paradises.

Some sheep escaped 7000 years ago, when still at an early stage of domestication, and founded feral populations on Sardinia, Corsica, Rhodes, and Cyprus. From there they have later been released as game in other parts of Europe. I spotted some in the Gredos mountains of Spain 28 years ago and made up the basic concept for this painting. Unfortunately the sheep were too far away for good sketching, so it wasn't until I found some captive ones that I actually painted this scene.

We've had a lot of sunshine the last few weeks, so why not make use of the great classroom out there? I showed the students how to render movement by minimizing detail and adjusting the animals' gestures, positions and distances to eachother. They drew what they wanted, like soccer players, pokémons and horses.

New mural

Bilingual Montessori School of Lund, where I work as a recreation instructor and art teacher, recently asked me to paint a mural in the dining room. I chose to do a larger version of the watercolor Soaring Golden Eagle posted here on April 26th. I'm simplifying it a bit so it fits the room and the medium though - ordinary wall paint. I'll keep you updated.
