Drawing models

My model painting classes always start with a drawing session, both because drawing is basic to my way of painting and for warming up so we don't get stuck midway. These sketches were made during some of my model painting evenings at Folkuniversitetet in Lund.
That's all for this year. I'm going to Australia soon and will be back in January. Have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year, everybody!

The opening

... was a great event and a possibility for me to catch up with old workmates I haven't seen for years. Unfortunately my flash went out of batteries just before the opening, so the photos are a bit blurred. Top to bottom: "my wall", Sissa and Julia on top of a double grave, Gretar Hermannsson carving bone, curator Ylwa Moritz, head of the museum Ingela Jacobsson and her husband Bengt, Ylwa Ekelund tanning Whiting skins.

Stone age cooking

One woman preparing an oven and another delivering foodstuff (but the Marten is for clothing). I spent quite an effort designing the dog. Their size, basic proportions, and skull shape are evident to any trained osteologist but I also added some of my own thoughts: These hounds' modern descendants are bred for a triangular trunk with a deep and wide chest. That might be something for a 21st century Western World person wanting to look fit but must be a significant agility drawback for a hunting dog, so I gave it a more natural build. Don't miss the exhibition opening at Trelleborg's Museum November 22nd at 16.00-19.00!

Sign at Skateholm

Skateholm has changed a lot over the last 7000 years. For example this sign is new but meant to inform you about life here in the Mesolithic. Two of my illustrations are on it.

Seal hunting

Two Ertebölle hunters sealing off Skateholm 7000 years ago. This is another illustration for the new exhibition at Trelleborgs Museum. Don't miss the opening November 22nd at 16.00-19.00! You will find the museum at Stortorget 1, near the central bus station in Trelleborg. See you there!

Sketchcrawl 2

Gunnar and Peter surprised me with two paintings of their own makes and a bottle of Prosecco Treviso for my 50th birthday. Other grains of gold were two White-Tailed Eagles, three Harbor Seals and five Bearded Tits at Sandön and Rönnen. And the Lapwings were amazing as always. Thanks for making my day, all of you!

I started doing portraits a couple of years ago and love it. The town of Kävlinge bought this painting for Jenny's father because he has worked 25 years for them. Congratulations, Bo!

Landing the catch

People of the Ertebölle culture seem to have spent a lot of time and efforts on the Grey seal, here being landed, flayed and disjointed by a group of Skateholmers.
